Join us during lunches for Mindful Maker Mondays!

This is an opportunity to engage in DIY projects with a particular focus on compassionate making and empathy. Projects include creating items that serve a purpose for others or solve a community issue.

Examples of Maker Mondays:
  • Community Quilts: Each person creates a square that represents a topic related to the SDGs. We combine them to create a quilt that can be displayed in the library.
  • Sensory Toys for Children's Hospitals: We make simple, safe sensory toys. These are then donated to a local children's hospital or special education classroom next door.
  • Seed Paper for Reforestation: Let's make seed-infused paper! We can share them with our to community to plant in an area that needs reforestation or given away to promote green spaces.
  • Upcycle Art: Bring in items that would typically be discarded, like old magazines, bottle caps, or t-shirts. Create something new and useful from these items, reducing waste and learning about sustainability.

We are seeking student leaders for these Maker Monday projects and offer community service hours for assisting or participating in our events. Email Mrs. B (bongiornom@fultonschools.org) if you feel led to help facilitate a session!
